The Raiders wrestled three duals on Saturday in the Cannon Falls field house against St.Peter, Cannon Falls and Kenyon-Wanamingo.

Northfield took on St. Peter in the First dual of the day. Caley Graber was back in action and dominant as usual with a fall in 59 seconds. Charlie Johnson got the next victory at 121 pounds after Drew Pribyl lost by fall at 114 pounds. Charlie wrestled all six minutes earning a 14-9 decision. Caden Staab followed with a 9-6 decision of his own at 127 pounds. At 139 and 145 pounds, Zane Engels and Sam Harner both won by decision. Zane’s was a 13-4 score, and Sam’s a thrilling 9-7 overtime victory. Halfway through the dual, Northfield held onto a 19-12 lead after a Northfield forfeit at 133 pounds. 

Jamison Baker and Iah Scwiech both lost by fall at 152 and 160 pounds respectively. At 172 pounds, Colin Staab posted a 41 second fall, and Ryan Kuyper followed that up with a pin of his own in 45 seconds. 

Braxton Wood got pinned in 3:19 resulting in a team score of Northfield 31 and St. Peter 30. It came down to heavyweight, and Noah Ackerman was up to the task getting the fall over Haadi Ahmed in 5:44. Northfield won the first dual 37-30.

Northfields second dual was against the host Cannon Falls. Caley Graber started things off with a fall in the second period at 107 pounds. Drew Pribyl fought a tough match against Class AA tenth ranked Adam Parish resulting in a 8-2 decision at 114 pounds. Charlie Johnson fought a tough match against Class AA third ranked Calvin Singewald resulting in a major decision defeat at 127 pounds. Zane Engels bounced things back with a fall in the first period at 139 pounds. Jamison Baker fought hard for all three periods but lost in the end 12-1 at 152 pounds. Colin Staab won by a 16-4 major decision at 172 pounds. Ryan Kuyper took on Class AA ninth ranked Tristan Zingler resulting in victory for Kuyper at 189 pounds. Noah Ackerman finished things off with a fall at heavyweight. Caden Staab, Tate Heiden, Sam Harner and Iah Schweich all received forfeits. Northfield won 49-18.

Northfield’s final dual was against Class A sixth ranked Kenyon-Wanamingo. Caley Graber yet again started things off right with a 3-0 decision over Class A second ranked Bryan Jacobson at 107 pounds. Drew Pribyl wrestled all three periods but fell short in a loss by decision at 114 pounds. Charlie Johnson lost to Class A fourth ranked Ryan LaCanne at 121 pounds. Caden Staab wrestled hard but got caught and lost by fall at 127 pounds. Sam Harner received a forfeit at 139 pounds. Zane Engels lost a close match to Class A second ranked Gavin Johnson at 145 pounds. Jamison Baker lost in the third period to Class A fourth ranked Dillion Bartel at 152 pounds. Colin Staab had a close match, but Staab lost by decision at 160 pounds. Iah Schwiech bounced things back with a 8-5 victory at 172 pounds that was followed by a fall for Ryan Kuyper at 189 pounds. Braxton Wood lost by fall to Class A second ranked Will Van Epps at 215 pounds. Noah Ackerman came close but lost by fall at heavyweight. Northfield lost 18-43.
