Kyan Rauk signed his commitment to attend and play football for South Dakota State University (SDSU) on Wednesday morning at Northfield High School, surrounded by family, friends, coaches, and teammates. Rauk has been a standout player for the Raiders on both sides of the ball. John Mahal, NHS Activities Director, congratulated Rauk on his accomplishments and noted he’s, “going to be receiving a great education at school and on the field.”

Northfield head football coach Brent Yule thanked Rauk not for just his excellent athletic ability, but his leadership, and years of being a good teammate. “South Dakota State is soon going to find out that they not only have a really good athlete coming to them, but they have a really good kid and a good teammate,” Yule said. Reflecting on the years of hard work Rauk has put in the weight room, offseason camps, and training, Yule noted the commitment to SDSU was well-earned.

In his brief speech, Rauk thanked his parents, coaches, and teammates for believing in and supporting him along the way. He also thanked his SDSU coaches for the opportunity to play football at the Division 1 level, closing with, “Go Big, Go Blue, Go Jacks!”
Rauk will join an SDSU program that is in the midst of an incredible run, gunning for its second straight FCS championship on Monday, January 8. The Jackrabbits are a massive favorite against Montana.
